Keep Gleaning in the Field

After exhausting all my options, there was nothing left to do but wait. I had prayed and cried and pleaded with the Lord. I said Lord, 'this situation is beyond me, it is only left for you to step into my situation and reveal your glory. I am trusting you Lord don't let me be ashamed.

During my devotional time, the Lord keep feeding life, faith and hope into me. He assured me that the trials that I was going through were not in vain; that they would be used to help others who faced similar difficulties or trials in their lives as well. I had decided to share with others some of the problems that I was facing. This was difficult because I was embarrassed; being a private person, exposing my vulnerability did not come naturally. In retrospect I can see the Lord's hand in this. These individuals assisted me through prayer and emotional support. One person I disclosed to has experienced similar issues and came out with a testimony. The Lord used the testimony of this individual to help remind me, when doubt would creep in, that He, the Lord, would provide.

Now the challenge was trying to stay motivated and continue to fulfill my responsibilities while I waited for the decisions. I am not yet ready to share the details of my dilemma, but if the Lord did not intervene, it would set the trajectory of my life in a whole new direction. Therefore I prayed also that whatever the case, that I would be content with His decision. I consoled myself by saying that change is good and is sometimes necessary for growth, otherwise stagnation sets in. But at the same time, prayed that I had the strength to deal with the changes.

As I waited on the Lord to answer my prayers  I continued to do what was in my power to do. I prayed, cried  and did whatever responsibilities I had school assignments, work and tried to maintain some social interaction outside of my busy schedule.  I waited on God's answer. And he answered.

Shortly after my answer came, I was reading my devotional and the phrase "keep gleaning in the field". It was a devotional based on the book of Ruth. The biblical story about the Moabite who followed her mother-in-law back to Canaan after the death of her husband, her brother- in -law and father-in-law. She refused to leave her mother-in-law's side even after she was released to go back to her family and perhaps find another husband. Instead she chose to stay and spend her days gleaning out in the field collecting scraps lefts over after the workers had harvested the field to provide for she and her mother-in-law. Long story short, God blessed Ruth's loyalty.

God is the same yesterday, today and forever (Hebrews 13:8), if he did it for Ruth, he can do it for you and I. Whatever troubles you are facing. God is the answer. Seek his face, cry out to him and trust him. He will move on your behalf. Pray continually through the journey and watch him move.

This post is way overdue. It testifies to an answered prayer from the beginning of 2018 which God answered at the end of March 2018.

    God Specializes in the Impossible

As mentioned in my previous post, there is a need that I have been believing the Lord to answer in my favor. This need has dragged on for so long and has created great anxiety, worry and frustration. At times the worry has almost paralyzed me, not physically but rather enough to incapacitate me from making plans for my future or from even daring to dream. This is a dangerous place to be, a place where one has lost hope and has lost the motivation to keep fighting.

However I learned from past trials to keep the moving; keep doing whatever in my power to do and allow the Lord to step in and do the rest. This morning, during my devotions in the book of Ruth, the message touched me enough that I posted it on my Instagram feed as I often do to chronicle power messages.

"When Naomi left Moab, she encouraged Ruth to stay because she would not have another son to marry. But, God is not limited to meeting our needs in expected ways. Here the same people who witnessed Naomi and Ruth return through the city gates empty are present to observe firsthand God's providential blessing."

"Maybe you are standing empty handed right now, and you cannot see how God will turn around a seemingly impossible situation. Ask God to help you trust in His goodness and grace. Nothing is too hard for the One who defected death itself to save you. He redeems all. You will witness His Providence firsthand in spectacular fashion soon."

This message was very prophetic as an hour later came the manifestation of the answered prayer. My Lord had done it again.

    My people, GOD is ABLE!

    Faith

Faith is the substance of things hoped for, and the evidence of things not seen (Hebrew 11:1).

If you have lived on this earth long enough, chances are that you have been through trials or are currently facing difficulties that requires you to exercise some faith. Perhaps the problem seems astronomical, too daunting and the possibility of a solution requires nothing short of a miracle. So, what do you do? How do you deal within the situation?

This is the dilemma I am currently facing. As a believer in Christ, I know that there is an answer. The Word tells me that without faith it is impossible to please God. It also tells me that sometimes God lets us go through difficulties to test us or to allow his glory to be revealed.

What is life without trials? It is through them that we have been blessed with some of the greatest creative expressions; that classic artwork, that timeless song, or dance or that invention that change the lives of many. It is through the hardships that we get to appreciate the blessings that are birthed through them. It is through hardships that we are able to really cherish the mountaintop moments. As these are the moments that were cried for and prayed for, fought for while journeying through the valley.

I do not know what battles you face, but I urge you brother, I urge you sister, keep moving do not stop. Keep the faith alive. Look for the small buttresses; supports, that are sent your way to help you along the journey. You can make it; I can make it. Just do not quit!

Lord, help us continue on our pathway to our destiny and allow us to experience pleasure along the way. Although the journey will seem rough, Lord reveal yourself to us and remind us of your presence in our lives. Your word says that all we need is a faith as small as a mustard seed. This means that we do not need much.  Lord we thank you for your provisions and praise your matchless name. Amen.
